In sailing, it is the task of the grinder to transform wind into propulsion by hoisting the sails as quickly as possible. Grinders perform the backbreaking work on board- they are truly top athletes! Exerting physical strength and endurance, the grinders race to turn the winches on sea-going yachts to raise the sails, with a classic crank motion.

The NOHrD WaterGrinder brings this intensive sport to your home, enabling you to achieve the impressive fitness levels of a racing grinder, without having to forego the element of water!

The WaterGrinder is easy to use while providing a wide range of exercise possibilities. Its elegant, drop-shape wooden frame is a true eye-catcher in the home or studio.

The WaterGrinder’s paddle is ergonomically shaped, producing the machine’s resistance in its water tank. Water resistance is self-determined, meaning, with each move it can precisely adjust to strength input: the harder you crank the hand pedals, the higher the resistance.


How it's made

Made to order by the house that has built it for generations. Frames are kiln-dried, slate is ground flat, cloth is stretched and ironed by hand after installation.

Getting it into your room

Our fitters deliver, assemble and level on site across the UAE, and will take the piece through stairs and lifts where access allows. Send us your room dimensions and door widths before ordering and we will confirm the fit in writing.

Delivery and lead time

Stocked items are delivered within 1–3 working days anywhere in the UAE. Made-to-order pieces run 12 to 16 weeks from order confirmation, depending on the maker and the finish you choose. We confirm your date in writing before production starts. Free delivery across the UAE on orders over AED 300, and we ship to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.

Care

Brush the cloth in one direction after play and iron it periodically. Keep the room below 24°C where you can. We recover and re-level tables from our workshop in Al Quoz.
