The Acer eKinekt BD3 is a desk and an upright bike in one frame, and pedalling it charges whatever is plugged into it. An hour of moderate cycling produces around 75 watts — enough to run a laptop and a phone off the rider rather than the building. It folds between work mode and exercise mode in seconds, and it is quiet enough to sit in an open-plan office.

It was designed for workplaces, hotel business lounges, campus libraries and co-working floors: places where people are sitting for eight hours and where a visible sustainability story matters as much as the equipment itself.
